Provide client-side representation and leadership onsite for Clements Gap utility scale project. Ensuring the successful and safe construction and delivery, including handover to operations, of finalised utility scale battery project.
The Site Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Pacific Blue’s contractors manage site construction activities in a safe, high-quality and sustainable manner. They will be the key interface with site activities, and the Project Execution team based at the Melbourne office, assisting with; the Project Management, Health & Safety, Industrial Relations, Engineering, Project Development Planning, Environmental compliance, Community engagement, and efficient handover of the asset to Operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Represent Pacific Blue’s interests to ensure construction activities are delivered to required design and quality standards and in accordance with construction schedules;
· Ensure works are completed on time whilst constantly monitoring the status of planning, safety, environmental and quality activities;
· Manage and motivate the contractor workforce and identifying and escalating any issues as necessary;
· Lead the management of quality on-site via the collection of quality artefacts including but not limited to Inspection and Test Plans;
· Lead the management of Health and Safety on site by attending all pre-starts, conducting audits and compiling reports;
· Conduct stakeholder management ensuring all interested parties are managed in a pro-active manner;
· As directed, effectively manage consultants and external providers, ensuring that contractors employed by the company comply with planning and development approval obligations and contractual requirements;
· Ensure all personnel accessing site are inducted in their roles and responsibilities in accordance with the requirements of the Project Management Plan and Pacific Blue site requirements;
· Promote total work safety and environmental awareness and compliance by employees, subcontractors and all persons working or visiting site;
· Ensure safe, environmentally acceptable working methods and practices are implemented and used;
· Communicate Constantly with the Project Manager to ensure the Project Manager is fully informed on activities and matters at site;
· Ensure efficient and productive field activities are undertaken. Ensure all activities relating to quality inspections by others are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes and standards, which form part of the construction contracts;
· Inform the Company of legislative issues which may impact the success of project;
· Engage with landowners and stakeholders about project process, future tasks, and aspects of construction for the benefit of education and management of execution;
· Oversee contractors to ensure compliance with project performance specifications, Health & Safety, Traffic Management, Environmental compliance and quality assurance requirements;
Ensure all contractors are advised of their obligations under applicable legislation, codes of practice, the Project Management Plan and all conditions set out in the contractual documents, and that those obligations are met;

· Ensure that the Company’s compliance obligations are actively maintained, managed and kept up- to-date with particular focus on cyber security and data protection and the compliance obligations allocated to the position title as identified in the Company’s Register of Compliance Obligations (as set out in the Compliance Procedure and as amended from time to time).
Challenges
· Management of multiple stakeholders, contractors and their subcontractors;
· Enforcing Pacific Blue Health & Safety objectives and maintaining compliance by all parties.
· Management of a constantly changing workforce and construction workplace.
· Ability to work autonomously in a remote location.
Judgments
· Decide which matters at site need to be advised to the Project Manager to keep the Project Manager well informed.
· Decide on the appropriate course of action for any non-conformances that may arise from time to time.
· Decide which examples of poor performance or poor workmanship should be brought to the attention of the relevant contractor and/or Project Manager and seek necessary improvement.
· When it might be necessary to implement disciplinary procedures for serious breaches of site rules or policies and when to involve People & Safety team.
· Able to make commitments to stakeholders and external parties on behalf of the company which will not have a material commercial, social or environmental impact on the company.
· Determination of which issues are material.
· Lead and manage Industrial relations issues at site, and escalate as required for engagement of third party specialists, contractor (business and individuals) screening and management, and ensure the Project team is aware of issues and trends.
· What directions and when are required to consultants and contractors employed by the company in relation to achieving agreed outcomes.
Knowledge, experience (including qualification) and skill
Knowledge and Experience
· Proven experience in project delivery
· Proven experience managing or directing work groups in a construction environment (preferred)
· Tertiary qualifications in a technical, environmental or business discipline (preferred) (possible certificate)
· Trade qualifications in technical field related to construction and operations, with experience and training in frontline management and construction management (optional) (electrical / H&S)
· Knowledge of renewable energy industry
