Purpose
This role is to provide quality financial and commercial support to the Group's business planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting functions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Preparation and presentation of the budget and forecast of assigned business units (BUs), including collection and application of underlying assumptions.
- Maintenance of quality monthly revenue analysis for the Australia Group and Chile Group.
- Preparation, consolidation, analysis and reporting of quarterly forecast and annual budget for the Australia Group, Chile Group, and the shareholder SPVs.
- Assisting in the management of quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes for the Australia Group, Chile Group, and the shareholder special purpose vehicles (SPVs).
- Development and maintenance of value driver model of Australia Group and reporting of analysis.
- Driving standardization of and continuous improvement in budgeting and forecasting process, methodology, reporting structure, financial & non-financial metrics, and documentation.
- Performing in-depth financial analysis to provide management with value-added insights on key business drivers, budget monitoring and operational risks & opportunities.
- Monthly tracking and reporting on financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and preparation of annual financial KPI reports.
- Preparation of annual cost targets / benchmarks for BUs or processes, e.g. Asset Management Planning process.
Reporting and Accounting
- Supporting the preparation of the Australia Group statutory accounts and shareholder reporting (Quick Packs, SASAC Packs & Comprehensive Plan).
- Providing quality input required for corporate valuation model, debt covenant compliance certificates, and business plan.
- Assisting in the year-end audit process, ensuring issues arising from the audit process are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of group accounting policies, reporting systems and processes.
- Providing support to BPC users, including training and report writing, to help with automation and standardisation of reporting process.
- Other ad-hoc projects and tasks as required within the Group Reporting team.
Cash Flow Forecasting & Reporting
- Maintenance of quality database, templates and documentation for cash flow analysis and reporting.
- Driving continuous improvements in cash flow forecasting methodology, assumptions, presentation, and documentation.
- Preparation and reporting of cash flow forecast for the Australia Group and individual BUs.
- Preparation of in-depth cash flow analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis and ratio analysis, and presentation to key stakeholders on risks & opportunities identified.
- Assisting in Australia Group liquidity monitoring process.
Controls and governance
- Assist in the development and maintenance of a robust system governing the creation of new entities, general ledger accounts, profit centres, cost centres, and intercompany relationships.
- Ensure that the company’s compliance obligations are actively maintained, managed and kept up-to-date with particular focus on the compliance obligations allocated to the position title as identified in the company’s Register of Compliance Obligations (as set out the Compliance Procedure and as amended from time to time).
Knowledge, experience (including qualification) and skill
Knowledge and Experience
- Accounting degree qualified
- CA/CPA or equivalent qualified
- Good knowledge and understanding of accounting standards
- Minimum 2 years’ working experience in renewable or energy service industry
- Basic knowledge of Australian tax laws
- Good understanding of the key components of the management and statutory reporting processes in Australia
- Understanding of risk management frameworks
- SAP & BPC experience
- Power BI and data mining experience will be highly regarded
