Purpose                                     

This permanent role is responsible for providing Corporate Finance services to support the Company’s activities. Responsibilities are diverse and include investment analysis, valuations, and financial modelling.

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct investment appraisal and valuation activities and provide detailed analysis and recommendations to support investment decisions for greenfield projects, mergers and acquisitions, divestments and refinancing activities.
  • Update, operate and optimise Corporate Finance’s suite of financial models; including the project finance / transaction models and the corporate valuation / business planning models.
  • Support the Development and Delivery teams by performing investment analysis and providing commercial insights regarding financial structure and other financing assumptions.  
  • Support the Commercial team with securing Power Purchase Agreements that offer value to the business.
  • Use external tools to develop revenue forecasts for existing assets and pipeline projects.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding assumptions that affect project funding requirements and investment return, conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis and present results.
  • Assist with managing the sign-off processes for business and project assumptions by building relationships with other functional units and internal stakeholders and critically reviewing their inputs and assumptions.
  • Conduct analysis to support capital planning; including calculation of post-project corporate cash flows, valuation, funding requirement and debt capacity.
  • Liaise with external consultants during financial model reviews; manage the issues register and action recommendations.
  • Assist with the compliance, modelling and optimisation of debt covenants and metrics.
  • Ensure that the Company’s compliance obligations are actively maintained, managed and kept up- to-date with particular focus on cyber security and data protection and the compliance obligations allocated to the position title as identified in the Company’s Register of Compliance Obligations (as set out in the Compliance Procedure and as amended from time to time).

Knowledge and experience:   

  • Relevant degree qualified (e.g., Commerce/Economics/Accounting/Business) 
  • Strong understanding of valuation and investment appraisal techniques  
  • Accomplished user of Excel and understanding of VBA  
  • Strong financial modelling skills 
  • Understanding of financial accounting 
  • Ability to articulate financial concepts and communicate effectively 
  • Practical experience and knowledge of MS Office suite
